56Hundred Pinotage | Nederburg

Nederburg 56Hundred

This range of refreshing, fruity and smooth-drinking wines takes its name from the price of fifty-six hundred guilders that Philippus Wolvaart paid in 1791 for the farm he was to name Nederburg. A visionary who recognised the winegrowing potential of the land, he had the tenacity to tame the property and establish a farm that continues to flourish today.

56Hundred Pinotage

Unique to South Africa, Pinotage combines the noble characteristics of Pinot noir with the reliability of Cinsaut. This medium-bodied wine shows juicy berries on the palate with soft tannins and a lingering aftertaste. Excellent with a braai (barbecue), a South African favourite.

COLOUR Ruby red.
BOUQUET A bounty of plums, prunes, red fruit flavours and some subtle oak spice.
PALATE A full mouthfeel with red fruit flavours, soft tannins and a lingering aftertaste.
